Environmental Policy
We recognise that sound environmental management not only reduces our adverse impacts on the local, national and global environments but also makes good business sense. By reducing our legal liabilities and costs we raise our public profile as a responsible and progressive organisation, giving us the platform to compete now and into the future.
It is our policy to:
- consume resources, such as energy, water, paper, etc. as efficiently as practicable.
- where waste is unavoidable, to manage it using the 'best practical environmental option' (BPEO) i.e. re-use, recycle or recover it to minimise the quantity for final disposal.
- provide a safe and healthy environment in which our employees, customers and visitors can interact.
- minimise our daily discharge emissions to water, land and air.
- minimise, as far as is reasonably practical, the risks of accidental damage to the environment.
- be committed to continual improvement, reacting to changes brought about by political, economic and technological stimuli.
- be committed to awareness programs so that individuals understand the impact of their activities.
- consider the environmental performance of our suppliers prior to making purchasing decisions.
- assist our clients with continual environmental performance initiatives by disseminating information on best practice
and new environmentally sound products and technologies.
- encourage exchange of information and ideas from both internal and external sources to help improve environmental performance.
